Curious, I always thought that system-wise, rogue has a harder time being a team player. A Paladin is a good shield, and is quite handy against enemy with fear or other savable special attacks, and the higher level you go the more there are. I am not certain he is a better solo-er then Cleric, though.
If there is a single character that the team wait for most, both in term of in-game time and out-game time, it usually is the rogue, scouting corridors and searching every square inch of any suspicious room. And maybe even a sole combat or two so she can keep the loot, while everyone else engage with their annoying PSP. At least the team can tag along and aid another when the bard goes gathering information...
